We ask for your email so we can automatically save your travel plans as you go, and to give you free credits to try out the platform. Your email lets you return to your saved plans anytime, from any device, and helps us keep your account secure with a one-time sign-in code. We never send spam or share your email with anyone.

Working with Smooth-AI is as easy as talking to another person. You may simply type your messages in conversational language into the input box in the chat window.

If you are using a mobile device, or if the computer you are using has a microphone, you may enable automatic speech recognition by clicking on the microphone icon in the chat window. You can then speak in natural, conversational sentences to Smooth-AI.

You may plan your trip easily, starting by telling Smooth-AI how you want to travel, where you are traveling from and where you want to go, as well as the dates for each leg of your journey. For example, you can start planning a week-long trip from Chicago to London in April by asking Smooth-AI to show you the flights first:

I want to fly from Chicago to London, departing on April 2 and returning on April 9.

Smooth-AI will show you a list of flights for you to choose from in a scrollable tab.

Once you have chosen your flights, you can find hotels and/or homestays at each of your destinations by telling Smooth-AI

Show me accommodations

Smooth-AI will show you hotels and other accommodations in tabs next to the flights tab.

You can also ask Smooth-AI to recommend things to do and restaurants to dine at by telling Smooth-AI

Show me activities

Smooth-AI will then list of recommended activities for each day of your trip.

After logging in to Smooth-AI, simply tell it that you would like to fly from your starting city to your destination city and the dates that you would like to fly each leg of your journey. You can add specifics about your flights, like “round-trip”, “first class”, etc. Speak in conversational English - for example:

I would like to fly round trip from New York to London, departing on March 15 and returning on March 22.

Smooth-AI will ask you to confirm that you want to do flight booking. Once you confirm this, Smooth-AI will show a list of available flights to choose from. Depending on your destinations, multiple airlines and even multiple airports will be shown in the list. You can fine-tune the list by telling Smooth-AI your preferences, like your preferred airline, minimum layover times, number of layovers, departure times, ticket class, etc. You may also specify the number of persons traveling, and whether any of them are children.

Examples:

I prefer non-stop flights, and will be traveling with one adult and two children.

I prefer Delta Airlines, and want to fly first class.

I prefer morning departures.

Smooth-AI will then re-build the list of flights each time you add another preference.

Once you have told Smooth-AI your preferences, you can then scroll up and down the list of flights, selecting a flight for each leg of your trip with the “Choose offer” button. When the flights for all legs of your journey have been chosen, Smooth-AI will display a list of available prices for your trip from several agencies. Choose the one you like best by clicking on its “Purchase offer” button.

If you have searched for flights, Smooth-AI will automatically look up hotels at your destinations and list them in the Hotels tab next to the Flights tab.

If you have not yet searched for flights, or wish to start by looking for hotels, you can find hotels at each of your destinations by telling Smooth-AI

Show me accommodations

Then tell Smooth-AI what your destinations are and the dates you want to stay at each destination. Smooth-AI will look up hotels at your destinations and list them in a Hotels tab that will appear to the left of the chat window.

For each hotel in the list, you may click on the Map button to see exactly where the hotel is located, and the View button to see details about the hotel, including photos, a list of amenities, ratings, etc.

Once you have found the hotel that you like, you can click on one of the booking buttons in the View to choose the room type and price. You will then be taken to a site to complete your reservation.

You can request specific hotel amenities or features, and Smooth-AI will adjust the list of accommodations accordingly. Examples:

I prefer non-smoking hotels.

I need a pet-friendly hotel.

Show me hotels with a business center.

Yes, you may start either by finding flights and then finding hotels, or you can start by finding hotels, then finding flights to get you there. Smooth-AI keeps track of your travel dates as you switch between choosing flights and hotels.

You can email your itinerary simply by telling Smooth-AI to do so by typing or saying “Mail this itinerary to” followed by the email address. Example:

You can download a copy of your itinerary to your device by just typing or saying

Download this itinerary.

The usual file saving dialog for your device will appear, allowing you to chose the location that your itinerary file will be saved to. The itinerary file will be in HTML format, allowing you to view it with any web browser, or to easily open it in an editor.

You may pause your itinerary generation at any time, and exit Smooth-AI. Smooth-AI will automatically save your itinerary. When you log back in to Smooth-AI, you will be presented with a list of short summaries of all of your saved itineraries. To continue working on one, just click on the “Select the session above” button for your chosen itinerary.

If you give your itinerary a unique name, that name will appear at the beginning of the itinerary’s summary in the list of saved itineraries, making it even easier to choose the one you want. See the FAQ “How can I keep track of multiple itineraries” for instructions on how to name an itinerary.

You can give unique names to your itineraries to allow you to easily select them from the list of saved itineraries shown to you when you log in. Just tell Smooth-AI “Name this itinerary” and follow that with the name you want to use. For example:

Name this itinerary Boston2025

You can tell Smooth-AI your preferences for things like like ticket class, number of layovers, departure or arrival times and more. Examples:

I prefer non-stop flights.

Show me flights that depart in the morning.

I want to fly first class.

You can start a new itinerary by telling Smooth-AI

Clear chat.

Smooth-AI will ask you to confirm that you really want to do this. Once you confirm, you can start creating your new itinerary.

Your Profile is used to set your preferences that the Smooth-AI will use when presenting travel options to you. You can set up preferences for airlines, airports, hotels and car rentals. These preferences can include preferred brands, preferred seats, dietary preferences, and much more. You can also save your affinity program numbers and other related information.

You can set up your Profile by clicking on the three dots icon ⁝ in the lower-right-hand corner of the chat window and selecting “Profile Mode” from the pop-up menu. This switches the chat session to Profile Mode, and opens the Profile Management browser window.

You can enter your preferences in the tabs in the Profile Management browser window. Be sure to hit the “Save All Changes” button at the bottom of the Profile Management tabs after any changes are made on that tab.

While in Profile Mode, the chat bot will only accept commands related to your profile settings. Once you are done entering your profile settings, you can switch back to Travel Mode by once again clicking on the three dots icon ⁝ in the lower-right-hand corner of the chat window and selecting “Travel Mode” from the pop-up menu. You can then proceed with planning and booking your trip with the chat bot, and the bot will incorporate your saved preferences in the flights, hotels and cars that it presents to you.
